Overview

In in-depth interviews, we discovered that many of our patients want to keep track of their mental health and would trust an AI psychologist to do so. Therefore, at StoreMed, we developed a service that helps patients manage their emotions and monitor their mental state. Clients can engage in dialogue with an artificial intelligence assistant, participate in interactive practices to reduce anxiety levels, complete a checklist of healthy lifestyle habits, or maintain an emotion diary

Goal

Our main goals are:

  • Identify the key needs of clients
  • Determine the most important functionality
  • Implement an easily scalable MVP to test the hypothesis
  • Create a visual style for graphic materials
  • Develop an AI chat with a psychological assistant
My role

As the head of the design department, my role was to:

  • Identify the target audience together with stakeholders and researchers
  • Highlight the core functionality for the MVP
  • Prepare low-fidelity wireframes to present the concept
  • Select an appropriate designer for the project
  • Develop a visual concept together with the designer
  • Verify all user journeys
  • Present and defend the solution to the stakeholders
Discovery

Short run: For the pilot launch of the psychological assistant, we have defined the following functionality:

  • Development of an interface based on the StoreMed application
  • Creation of a section with interactive practices
  • Implementation of emotions: anger, grief, and anxiety
  • Development of a repository of methodological materials for each emotion (including video recordings, audio, and infographics)
  • Creation of a chat based on GPT-4oVerification of dialogue texts by doctors and UX editors

It is important to consider that the experience gained from developing the AI psychologist should be scalable to other assistants within the MEDSI ecosystem

Long run:

Long run is:

Prototype

After defining the MVP functionality, I began creating a low-fidelity prototype and developed all the user scenarios based on research

We presented the interface to users, defended the ideas to stakeholders, and began the search for a visual concept.

Design

The designer and I developed a visual style and created the design for the new section. The design references the design system of the main StoreMed application, resulting in a modern and appealing look.

Additionally, using the AI tool Recraft for image creation, we produced 40+ covers for practices in a consistent style. This significantly reduced the time and cost of development

We prepared video clips for training practices, created characters, and animated them
